Activate Interactive lands two wins at GovMedia Conference & Awards

Its suite of apps has proven to be effective in meeting the goals of its target audiences.

Singapore technology consultancy, Activate Interactive, secured two major wins at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2024 for its Self-Help and Rehabilitation E-application (SHARE) that empowers offenders to navigate their rehabilitation journeys post-incarceration, as well as the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Mobile application that provides users with easy access to their CPF information.

SHARE is a mobile application which allows supervisees (offenders serving the tail-end of their sentences in the community) to take greater ownership of their rehabilitation by giving them access to electronic rehabilitation resources, a centralised job database and rehabilitation process tracking, amongst other features.

Through the app, supervisees can define clear and achievable goals for reintegration into society, such as employment, relationship-building, and continuous education. Supervisees can also record notes after their engagement sessions, make requests such as an extension of curfew hours, as well as update and submit documents to fulfil their supervision requirements.

SHARE gives supervisees information on prosocial networks that can support their journey towards positive change. With a wide range of resources, they can also acquire new skills and knowledge that could potentially increase their employability and personal growth. They can access the resources based on their interests, or recommendations from supervisors.

They can also get first-hand information on available jobs in various industries/markets through SHARE.

The launch of this project, as initiated by the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) and HTX (Home Team Science and Technology Agency), streamlines manual processes associated with supervisee communication and facilitates information sharing through the platform. SHARE's integration with external resource systems relieves SPS staff from manual resource management tasks so that they can better focus on core tasks like supervision and counselling.

“SHARE has emerged as a key facilitator of organisational efficiency, enabling timely request reminders, and submissions, and enhancing task traceability for both supervisees and supervisors. Its capability for electronic submissions underscores its role in modernising processes and reducing reliance on physical documentation delivery, thereby enhancing organisational agility,” the company noted.

The application brought Activate Interactive its win in the Singapore Digital Initiative of the Year - Correctional Services category.

Meanwhile, the CPF Mobile provides members with easy access to their personal CPF information and manage their savings. The improvements made in the mobile app aim to enhance user experience, accessibility, and security, driven by the identified needs of members based on research and actual user feedback.

The improved app introduces a privacy mode that ensures the confidentiality of sensitive information, allowing users to transact securely on the go. Push notifications facilitate timely communication with users, providing updates on their personal CPF matters and useful information.

CPF Mobile’s redesigned interface, governed by Universal Design Principles, is also user-centric, with information organised in a carded layout for easy digestion of the information of CPF members. The addition of a filter function in the Transaction History allows users to focus on the most relevant transactions, enhancing usability.

The app has proven to be successful amongst users, with ratings increased to 4.1 out of 5. CPF Board has also been invited by other government agencies to share on its redesign. The effective implementation of these enhancements inspires others to adopt similar strategies to improve user experience and service delivery.

“The opportunity to be involved in this project allowed us to hone our skills in providing innovative fintech solutions. Delivering cutting-edge features that addressed users' evolving needs helped us progress towards our goal to become a trusted partner for government agencies seeking to enhance their digital services,” the company said.

CPF Mobile led Activate Interactive to win the Singapore Outreach Project of the Year - Pension category.
